Industrial shelving for organic shapes

STARKHolz was founded in 2016 by childhood friends Thomas Renner and Timo Ziegler. The design and construction of creative and unique playgrounds made from natural robinia wood form the heart of the joinery. Every year, the company realizes around 100 playground and outdoor wood projects, terraces made of robinia wood, street furniture and individual pieces. STARKHolz currently employs 20 people. 65% of them are women, including two of the three trainees.

Over the years and with the recent addition of the robinia wood trade in Baden-Württemberg, not only has the team grown, but also the space requirements. Today, STARKHolz stores logs and sawn timber made from robust robinia on around 2,500 square meters.

Storing the logs, some of which are very heavy, requires shelving that can easily support the maximum weight, length and shape of the logs. "Over the years, we have continued to grow and it has simply become clear that we need more space to store our timber," explains founder Thomas Renner.

The optimum solution with TOPREGAL cantilever racking

In his search for a suitable solution, Renner initially came across well-known suppliers, but the ordering process was lengthy and the prices were unconvincing. Through online research, he finally discovered TOPREGAL. "The configuration was super fast and I had my quote within an hour. Everything went incredibly smoothly." Today, the STARKHolz warehouse houses the first cantilever racks of the largest version, the KR6000, which is almost 50 meters long and five meters high. They form the stable basic framework for the professional storage of the irregular, organic logs. An expansion of the storage capacity through additional cantilever racking is already being planned.

But that's just the beginning!

It is precisely this contrast that particularly excites Renner. The industrial heavy-duty shelving and the natural wood initially appear to be opposites, but in his hall they come together to form a surprisingly harmonious unit. "I like to bring things together that initially seem far apart," says Thomas Renner. What applies to his playgrounds is also evident in his warehouse: the apparent contrast becomes a creative connection.

But it wasn't just the TOPREGAL products that won Renner over. "I've rarely been in contact with a company where everyone is so nice and you can really rely on what they say." For him, TOPREGAL is not just about the quality of the shelves, but also the interpersonal relationships. A partnership that he can well imagine continuing in the future.
