The term intralogistics covers all processes within a company that involve the movement of materials, goods and logistics. These include, for example, industrial trucks, cranes, (series) hoists and continuous conveyors (elevators) as well as the entire warehouse technology. Intralogistic processes are the organization and execution, monitoring and improvement of the flow of goods and materials in industry, trade and public institutions.
When goods leave the factory premises, external transport by forwarding agents or suppliers outside the factory premises is the counterpart of intralogistics.
The "Conveyor Technology and Intralogistics" forum at the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) combines the interests of around 250 German and European member companies. It represents suppliers from the sectors of driverless transport systems, industrial trucks, cranes, warehousing technology, serial hoists and continuous conveyors (elevators).
